Merfyn Jones

Change Governor:

Since studying at Sussex and Warwick I've gone on to take various academic posts at the University of Wales, Swansea, and the University of Liverpool. In 1994 I became Professor of Welsh History at the University of Wales, Bangor, and eventually became Vice Chancellor in June 2004.

I specialise in the modern and contemporary history of society and politics in Wales, with a special interest in devolution. I have written a number of books and articles.

I have been a regular broadcaster in both Welsh and English for many years, and wrote and presented the 13-hour television history of Wales in the twentieth century, Cymru 2000.
