Richard Tait

Change Governor:

I have been an academic, a magazine journalist and a newspaper columnist - but I have spent most of my career in broadcasting including working at the BBC as Editor of The Money Programme, of Newsnight, and of BBC Television's 1987 General Election Results Programme.

I went on to become Editor of Channel 4 News from 1987 to 1995, and ITN's Editor-in-Chief from 1995 to 2002. I am a Fellow of both the Society of Editors and the Royal Television Society.

I am a Trustee of the John Schofield Memorial Trust and a member of the Advisory Boards of the Kurt Schork Memorial Fund, the International News Safety Institute. I am currently Professor of Journalism and Director of the Centre for Journalism Studies at Cardiff University.
