How your TV licence is spent

The BBC works hard to spend your money wisely and deliver value for money. In 2004 we launched a far-reaching drive to cut costs which will allow us to spend more on new programmes and services.

Each households' TV licence cost £10.08 every month in 2004/2005. On average each month, this was how the BBC spent your money.
