ATTENDANCE The Board of Governors met on Thursday 16th November at the Media Centre, White City. Apologies were received from Richard Tait. The following directors attended for one or some agenda items: Mark Thompson (Director-General), Mark Byford (Deputy Director-General), John Smith (Chief Operating Officer), Zarin Patel (Finance), Caroline Thomson (Strategy), Stephen Kelly (BBC People), Tim Davie (Marketing, Communications and Audiences). 2. OUTLINE OF BUSINESS Minutes of the Board of Governors' monthly meetings are published on the Governors' website – www.bbcgovernors.co.uk – three weeks after their approval at the subsequent Board of Governors' meeting. The minutes for the November meeting will be published on or before 11 January. Prior to publication of the minutes, the Governors are committed to providing an outline of the business taken within 2 weeks of their meetings. At their meetings on 16th November business included: • Approval of the terms of reference and panel membership for the Governors’ Impartiality Review of Business Coverage • Review of draft Purpose Remits prior to them being considered by the BBC Trust • Consideration of the future role of the Central Religious Advisory Committee • The half year review of the editorial policy • Report on the latest results of the perceptions of impartiality tracking survey • Approval of a Disability Equality Scheme for the BBC • The quarterly report of service performance and progress towards digital switchover • An investment case for the BBC’s commissioning and scheduling IT system
