Review of television current affairs

The Governors published the terms of reference for this review of current affairs on BBC television led by their independent advisers in September 2004.

The review - presented to the Governors in January 2005 - assesses the BBC's performance in serving audience needs and delivering on its commitment to continue to extend the range and deputh of programming in this genre.

It informed the Board of Governors' consideration of management's proposed new strategy for current affairs on BBC One, which they approved in January and which has since been announced by BBC management.
