Statements of Programme Policy

Each spring the BBC publish its Statements of Programme Policy which set out the remit for each service, and commit the BBC to providing a wide range of public service output.

Each service outlines its priorities for the year ahead and the programme plans are explained in the context of the BBC's six key public purposes: sustaining citizenship and civil society; promoting education and learning; stimulating creativity and cultural excellence; representing the UK, its nations and regions; bringing the UK to the world and the world to the UK and Building digital Britain.

The BBC's programme plans for 2006/7 for each of its 27 services across all platforms can be found on bbc.co.uk here. The Governors will judge the BBC's performance against them throughout the year and publish their assessment in the July 2007 Annual Report.

The programme plans for previous years can be found here.
